Important Announcement from the Director
It is with sincere regret that we are announcing the closure of The Herts Women’s Centre in Stevenage. The Centre will be closing in September 2018.
The Herts Women’s Centre has been in Stevenage since 1996 and we have occupied our current premises at The Hyde since 2004. The Centre has struggled many times in previous years to raise the funds to continue our services and our whole existence has been reliant on a small core staff team who have worked tirelessly to keep our doors open.
Unfortunately in the current climate of reduced funds, increased building maintenance and service charges, utlity bills etc, we now feel the occupation of our current premises is no longer viable.
We are extremely proud of our many achievements over the years; we have been a reliable and respected service within Stevenage and the surrounding areas. We have worked in partnership with both statutory and local services in meeting the needs of our local community and always been inspired by the women who have accessed our services.
Our work will continue up until September and all those currently attending the Centre will continue to be supported.
We would like to thank all those who have contributed in the delivery of our services, our funders and those that have so kindly donated and enabled our work.

A new 8 week course is being offered at the Herts Women's Centre by Pear Training Ltd starting on Thursday 19th April 2018 from 10am - 12.30pm

"Mothers' Pride is an 8 week course designed by Pear for women who are considering the next steps in their lives. It may be that their children are about to enter full time education or they have simply reached a stage where they are considering that there could be something interesting and fulfilling "out there" for them. For example. they may want to start looking for paid work, or to look at further education or perhaps start volunteering as a way into the job market. These new challenges can be very frightening and many women feel they have lost the confidence to cope in the adult world of work, especially after spending years at home with small children. The course aims to provide a safe, women-only and supportive group environment"
